The pleasant smell of wood-fire and freshly cooked food overwhelms Marty.Looking at silhouettes of people sitting with their backs against him. Their dimly lit faces talking to each other. Big chunks of meat gorged with sticks were being rotated over fire by a girl with her hair swept back. Her face was shining with the light from the fire. The flickering flames of fire reflected brilliantly on her glasses. He felt calm and delighted at the same time. Marty:Smells like home mate. What is that on the fire? Marty sees a large clearing of land that seemed to have undergone a trim. There were few shrubs that had been chopped off from near the stem. The grass had been trampled at some places and felt untouched at some. There were three logs of wood arranged around the fire with five people sitting on them each. Their voices appeared to be in the language he was learning moments ago. Not far behind he could see atleast five tents. But there appeared to be more. Pablo: HOLA! `*` The chatter stopped. The eyes turned towards them. Marty could feel the eyes staring at them. He tried too look ath them but didn't necessarily make eye-contact with anyone. He felt nervous. He was scared but hopeful. Marty got some rest in the camp, freshened up with some water and joined them for dinner. The hare and fish he ate felt surprisingly warm and satisfying. This was better than the MREs he was eating at his camp, he thought. Famished as he was, he was relishing every bit of his meal. Almost everybody had finished too. They washed their dishes and returned to the camps. He saw Eva turning to him with another serving of meal and laid it on his plate Marty: HEYY. I'm full!? Eva smiling: like you are Marty. It was still dark outside. But birds had started chirping distantly. Marty could hear the shrill cry of cicadas and the chirp of crickets in the bushes surrounding the camp. He checked his watch. It was at about 5 AM. He got up and went to the soft bushes on the other side of the rocks to the west of the camp. When he came back, he saw all of the campers were awake. Pablo was screaming instructions to them. Some had begun packing, some were collecting the trash in garbage bags. Eva, along with a few others was pondering at what looked like a [[map]].

Pablo: Hola, Marty! Marty: Si? Pablo: Go to Eva, she'll explain to you the search plans we made. Listen to her carefully. It is important. Marty: Very well. [[Eva was now rushing towards him.]]

Hey listen, she said. Eva: Pablo and a few others concocted this plan yesterday. We're following it. Alejandro saw some footprints not far from here, heading east. We suspect your friends might have gone in that direction. We'll go east, move along this lake here, and up the hill. We'll decide what to do then if we still can't find them. Each of them including Marty had a flare that they would shoot up if they got separated and they'd walk in pairs. Marty got Eva. He liked her company. And in the distressing situation, he was in, he considered himself lucky to have found people willing to go over the top to help him out. Soon they had the lake in sight. It had a greenish tinge to it. But he could clearly see few feet deep. Marty: It's serene. Eva: Yeah, this is what happens [[when nature lacks human intervention.]]

Vanya cooked the fish and served all of them a couple of fillets along with rice that Alejandro had cooked enthusiastically. He felt the cooked fish fill his body with warmth and satisfaction that he hadn't felt since the night before. Having finished their lunch, they packed and went moving again. He was almost at the end of the queue they were traveling in. Eva was telling him [[something about plants.]]

He felt the queue had stopped. All of them were hurdling forwards to see what had happened. Pablo held his arms wide to stop others from moving forward. Marty saw the horror in Pablo's eyes when he turned his face. He shifted his eyes to the ground where he could see a massive footprint at least six feet wide and a foot deep. There were other such footprints too. But Marty's eye caught something. [[A yellow backpack]]. Was it...?

Marty: HEY! That's Jennifer's! He rushed forward to pick it up. One of its straps were broken. Beside it was the shattered lens of a Nikon camera. And this is Emmett's, he said softly. He noticed multiple footsteps that surely were of Jennifer and Emmett's. He saw those massive footsteps again which seemed to [[disappear after a distance|Einstein]].

Something caught his attention. He heard a low pitch moaning in the nearby bushes. Nearly everyone gasped. But not Marty. He rushed towards the bush and found and found a golden hair dog looking groggy and licking his paws. EINSTEIN!, he screamed with joy. He stroked him and helped him get up. He seemed to have got up from a long nap. He shook himself up and began licking Marty's hand. [[Eva joined him in petting him.]]

Eva: I don't understand. What happened to Marty's friends. And why is the dog here? Pablo: All of this, I'm afraid points to one thing. [[EL CHUPACABRA.]]

Pablo: El Chupacabra, is a giant ferocious monster feared by Hispanics since ages. Some claim to have seen it while some didn't live to tell the tale. It lives in caves and hunts animals at night. Marty: Is that what took them. And Einstein? Pablo: Yes. Chupacabras have been known to be afraid of dogs. Hence Einsteins here. Diego: [[Oh boy now what?]]

Pablo: We save them. Marty: How? Pablo: Your dog can help us track this monster. Marty: And then what? Pablo: We'll have to fight it Silence ensued. Marty spoke, "I'll fight anything that brings them back." Pablo: Very well then. [[Let Einstein lead the way.]]

Marty held Jennifer's bag near Einstein's nose. Einstein darted in one direction. Marty followed him. So did Pablo and the rest of the group. They kept running until it was almost dusk. Einstein stopped near a couple of big stones. There was a rather grassless lane between them that showed constant travel wear. On the lane, he found familiar footsteps. Not far ahead was a rocky cave with pine trees around. [[Animal skullbones decorated the sides of the cave.]]

Marty: So this is it? Pablo: Yeah, I'm afraid it is. Marty: Wait here, I'll go in. Eva: No Marty, we're here to help. Pablo: I'm afraid I can't allow that Marty. We'll come with you. Marty: Alright then. [[Let's beat the crap out of this chupacabra.]]

The insides of the cave were dark. All of them had flashlights strapped on their foreheads. Pablo had an ax in his hand. So did Marty. Eva had a bow and arrow. Diego had knives in both his hands. [[Jose wielded a cast iron skillet.]]

The cave was damp. Its walls were glistening when the flashlights shined on them. The floor was cracked but was smoother than outside. There was a hue to the shiny walls when he moved forward. On looking closely, he noticed they were blood streaks. His heart started beating faster. They reached a bisectional turn. [[Go left.|Marty goes left]] [[Go right.|Marty goes right]]

Marty notices a dark alley. They keep walking only to find a murky damp wall without a way out. On the ground were more skulls and bones of animals. [[Jose wielded a cast iron skillet.]]

The streaks got darker and more numerous. They could now hear a low pitched growling at a distance. Marty clenched his ax and moved forward. The growling became even louder. Marty could see a faint light down the turn. He proceeded. The bright light now more luminous in what appeared to be a chamber. They entered the chamber. It was well lit. Fire burning on both sides of the wall. Marty noticed there was a stone engraving in the middle of the room. He moved closer to [[take a better look at it.]]

A door slid open in front of him leading to a passage. The group headed towards it. The passage narrower than the one they had entered through. The growling now even louder. They were walking even slower now. Then they saw it. The majestic, scary beast they had anticipated. It was sitting in the corner licking its giant three-foot paws. Its skin was scaly. Almost pale brown. Its teeth were poking out of its lips. [[Saliva drooling from a few of them.]]

Marty's heart jumped when he saw the other corner of the room. Laying unconscious were Jennifer and Emmett. Einstein was now barking loudly. The monster looked at them and emitted a deafening growl. The bark was now reduced to cooing. Marty clenched his weapons tightly. He looked around himself. He was standing at the front. Rest were crouching, [[prepared to fight.]]

A loud voice addressed them. "MARTY! YOU HAVE COME TO YOUR DOOM." "You know my name?" "I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU." "Who are you?" "I'M THE MONSTER THAT BROUGHT YOUR FRIENDS HERE." [["But why?"|Monster answers]]

"BECAUSE I NEED TO TEACH ALL OF YOU A LESSON." "What lesson?" Ignoring his question the voice said, "I SEE YOU'VE BEEN TAKING YOUR SPANISH LESSONS." "Sort of, yes." "LET'S PLAY A GAME. I'LL ASK YOU A VERY SPECIFIC SET OF QUESTIONS. ANSWER THEM AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO. [[FAIL TO DO SO AND ALL OF YOU WILL MEET YOUR DOOM.]]"

Pablo rushed forward with his ax, "YOU WILL NOT HURT MY BOY!" The chupacabra swung its forearm and Pablo went flying, hit the roof and fell on his face. Marty was now feeling the blood rush to his face. He was breathing heavily. His fists clenched. He was ready to take a swing at the monster. [["CAREFUL!"]] The voice followed.

"ANSWER MY QUESTIONS AND YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE. DON'T MAKE ME HURT ALL OF YOU." Eva said from behind, almost in tears, "Marty, you need to calm down, listen to him. Please." Marty felt a calming presence in his body all of a sudden. He didn't want to fight anymore. He felt an ice cold chill in his body now. Marty: Tell me the questions. I won't retaliate. Voice: [[Finally. Here they are.|Mega question set]]

When you get back, tell your kind of my story. Tell them of yours. Tell them how generous I was but most importantly, tell them I'm coming. And I won't be alone. I'll have an army with me. The monster slowly walked into a door near itself and disappeared into it. Emmett and Jennifer were now gaining consciousness. All of the group rushed to help them. Jennifer: M...M...Marty? Marty: Yeah Jen, we're here. [[You'll be alright Em.]]

Emmett was groaning at a distance. Pablo was attending him. Pablo: You're gonna be alright my brother. I'll help you out. Emmett: Goodness me, I'm still alive! Pablo: And what a time to be eh? Emmett: Hehe, yeah. Eva: Let me help you. Eva hurried towards Emmett with her [[first aid kit]]

Eva patched Emmett up. Marty was amazed to see the deftness with which she tended to him. Eva: Don't look so bewildered Marty, I am a member of guides in my school Marty: Is there anything you can't do? Eva: Marty, this is no time to joke Marty: Hey, hey, [[chill out.]]

They came out of the cave. The darkness had crept in. A yellowish-white moon no more than a smudge was visible in the ghostly blue sky. Marty and Eva were helping Emmett walk. He was hurt worse than Jennifer. Marty: You doing alright man? Emmett: Mierda! My leg is paining, but I should heal in a week or two. Eva: Don't worry Emmett, our rescue chopper will be here in an hour. We should be home soon. They reached the top of the hill. The forest underneath was beautiful.
